No Matter What the Cause, We Can Help!

Millions of Americans suffer from chronic joint pain that can have a variety of underlying causes: the source of pain can sometimes be from the cartilage, while other times the tendons and/or muscles of the knee joint can be the culprit. At Beyer Functional Wellness we have the most comprehensive approach and options available…no matter what the root cause of your pain, we can address it and get you better! And, our treatment options are outpatient and cater to everyone from serious athletes, to someone who is not ready (or willing) to undergo painful and expensive surgical procedures. Get the joint pain relief you need with one of the following three treatments options we offer. Your joint pain, no matter what the cause, is most certain to be a thing of the past!

1.Low Level Laser Therapy (“Cold Laser”)

Our first option to treat knee pain that is more minor is to utilize Low Level Laser Therapy to heal the damaged soft tissues and naturally reduce inflammation. This is sometimes called “Cold Laser” therapy because it’s non-heat producing, so it’s a very comfortable and effective option for more minor cases.

2. Pletelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP)

For more severe issues, especially of the tendons in the knee, we’re able with PRP therapy to stimulate dramatic healing via this type of regenerative medicine option. In PRP therapy a blood sample is taken from the patient, and the platelets (which are the cells in our blood that release growth and healing factors to an area of injury), are isolated/concentrated and injected back into the damaged area.

3. Stem Cell Therapy

And if your knee condition is degenerative…even bone-on-bone…we can help! With stem cell therapy we can literally cause repair, replacement, and reconstruction of the joint cartilage. In our office we us “Mesenchymal Stem Cells”(MSC’s) which have the ability to differentiate into other cells, so the patient can actually experience cartilage regrowth within the treated joint.

4. Alpha 2 Macroglobulin

A2M is also an excellent Regenerative Medicine treatment option that we offer. This can be used either alone or in combination with PRP or Stem Cell therapy. With an A2M treatment, a blood sample is collected like with PRP, but instead of isolating the platelets, a very special filtration kit and process are used to extract Alpha 2 Macroglobulin proteins from the blood sample. When the A2M is injected back into the affected joint, it binds up and removes the cartilage-damaging molecules that accumulate in our joints over the years. This is an excellent and very unique treatment option for not just knee pain, but many times for shoulder, hip, and other joint pain problems.
